Roberta Annan is the Managing Partner of Roberta Annan Capital Partners (RACP), a specialized boutique investment company that specializes in energy infrastructure advisory and investments in Sub-Saharan Africa. A decision she took after 2 years of experience with LJ Africa Advisors, a JV she created in partnership with LJ Partnership- a Multi Family office with 13billion USD assets under management. In this capacity she has represented and advised Private Equity Funds on their acquisition of power assets across the African Continent. She has recently partnered on the Investment and Development side on renewable energy opportunities in West Africa.
She is Founder of Frallain Group- a portfolio company comprising of African Luxury Brands. Where she invested seed capital into brands and collaborated with local artisans especially women in vulnerable communities to empower them economically. She also founded its non-profit organization, African Fashion Fund foundation that supports and educates African Designers.
RACP has an advisory arm- RAC, under RAC, she has been responsible for the expansion of several multinational corporations and small to medium-sized enterprises in Africa and the establishment of foundations for several HNWIs such as Polymateria Ltd (a green technology firm spearheaded by Jonathan Sieff of the Marks and Spencer Family) and GMC Co Labs (a gender lens impact investor) She has worked on projects valued at $6 million to $2billion. Her work spans across numerous industries.
On the not for profit side, she was instrumental in winning the grant in conjunction with Africa 2.0 and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration to set up the Regional Leadership Center for the Obama Young African Leaders Initiative. She acted as an Advisor to The Rose of Sharon Foundation (Foundation of Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija)
She has been a recipient of several leadership awards such as 20 under 40 Influential Business Leaders in Ghana, Feminine Ghana Achievement Award, Woman 2.1 Summit Award and the Youngest African to be inducted into the African Leadership Hall of fame and is part of Young Leaders Circle for Milken Institute.
Roberta completed the Program for Leadership Development at the Harvard Business School and holds a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Georgetown University. She received a Bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
Originally from Ghana, West Africa, Roberta has lived and worked on four continents. Her passions include traveling, speaking, reading, and volunteering.
